Our first kayak event will be on Silver Lake.  This paddle will be appropriate for most skill levels including beginners.  We will kayak approximately 2 hours and then head to the Silver Lake Recreation area for a potluck lunch.  The capacity for this event is set at 40.
* Once we reach capacity, Lin will keep a waiting list.  Please only register if you are certain you can attend.  If a last minute emergency forces you to cancel please notify Lin.  She will then contact the first person on the waiting list. 


After the paddle those interested are encouraged to join us for a potluck lunch at the Silver Lake Recreation Area.  we have reserved the large pavilion at the end of the drive.  Lin and Juanita will provide table clothes, table service, and drinks.  Please bring a dish to pass that can be kept in your car while kayaking (Examples are finger sandwiches, cheese, meat, cracker tray, fruit or vegetable tray, desert),  This get together will provide time to meet new members, discuss plans for the season, and answer questions.

The boat launch is located on N. East Silver Lake Rd. (@ 1.5 miles south of the intersection of Silver Lake/ Zimmerman & East Silver Lake Roads).  It is just south of the trailer park and across from 1072 N. Silver Lake Rd. (a tan house with a white fence).   Silver Lake Recreation area is located @ .7 miles north of the launch.  It is next to the Garfield Township Fire Department.  We have reserved the large pavilion at the end of the park drive.
